Mine was born in 1968 in Istanbul . She studied in Suadiye Lisesi and graduated from Gazi University (German Language and Literature) in Ankara in 1989. Mine started her career in Tourism Industry in Antalya, Turkey (8 years). Her last success was creating and generating new tourism products which are related Turkey’s vital tourism activities. She represented Turkey in very competitive German tourism market. Her strong leadership and creative marketing talent brought her to finance field and she worked three years in Life insurance Industry in Istanbul as a Sales person, team leader and Marketing assistant.
After started her life in Los Angeles before six years ago, she choose to work in retail business as a sales consult.
Besides her strong work habit, She also likes to be helpful and supporter in society. She joined in 2007 in American-Turkish association of southern California (ATASC)
to be helpful to develop relationships between Turks who lives in Los Angeles and also all Americans from any other ethnic background. Her biggest passion is to see more Turkish people hand in hand like other ethnic cultures in Los Angeles. She wants to be a part of a peaceful life and share all the goodies with all other people around the world.

Ms. Kockaya received a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture, with a concentration in Economics from Uludag University in Turkey. After graduation, she decided to start her career in business. She has six years of management, three years of accounting and finance experience.
She always would like to improve herself. Therefore, she came to the U.S. to make her English and management skills better. Currently she is studying in Business Administration. While she is studying, she has received three times Honor Student awards and a scholarship, and also is working at the school as an assistant to an accounting professor. She always enjoys contributing to communities. Thus, she decided to join Los Angeles Turkish American Association to develop Turkish and American relationship.

Murat Meşe – Event Coordinator
Murat was born in Bursa, Turkey. After graduating from Bursa Science
High School, he got his B.Sc in Electrical Engineering from Bilkent
University in 1996, M.Sc in Electrical Engineering from California
Institute of Technology in 1997, and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering
from California Technical Institute in 2001. He specializes in signal,
image and, video processing, communication theory, systems, and
implementation, control theory, statistics and data processing, and
has published numerous papers and patents in his field.
After graduation, he joined RakTEL.com and worked on Sequoia
Communications 3G cell phone transceiver design until 2004. Then Murat
continued his career at Qualcomm for two years designing 4G cell phone
systems and has been working for Broadcom since 2006 as Senior
Principal Engineer specializing in wireless connectivity and cellular
systems.
Murat is a self-starter, he started numeruous companies, including
RakTEL.com where he implemented new phones / phone card services
during his career at this company. Murat is skeptical and promotes
networking across different disciplines. He was president of Turkish
Student Association at California Technical Institute between 1997 and
2001 and continues to be active within Turkish community, organizing
and supporting various events and organizations. Currently Murat is a
board member and event coordinator of Los Angeles Turkish American
Association(LATAA).

Metin Mangır – Board Member

- Metin Mangır
Metin served in the ATASC public relations committee in 1982-3, at the ATASC school in Long Beach during late 1990s, and as VP of ATASC in 2009.
Metin came to SoCal in Sept 1968 as a sophomore to attend Caltech. He got his BS from Caltech in Engineering in 1971, and his PhD in Applied Physics from USC in 1975, specializing in lasers, optics, and materials. After several years of postdoctoral research positions at National Research Council and USC, in 1980 he started to work at Hughes Research Laboratories in Malibu, CA, first as a scientist and then as department manager and later as laboratory director. He retired from HRL Laboratories in Sept 2008. Since then he is traveling in US and Turkey, consulting in technical areas, teaching at Koç University, and greatly enjoying the third stage of his life.
