Thank you very much for taking the first step in building support against H.Res.252 and for taking personal responsibility to protect our heritage as Turkish Americans and for strengthening the voice of our community.

This legislation distorts the national history of the modern Turkish Republic, defames the national identity of the Turkish people and tarnishes the memory of our ancestors. It is designed to pave the way for reparations and even land claims against the Turkish Republic.

Not all Turkish Americans are as well informed about the severity of this issue and many remain inactive for a variety of reasons. If we don’t have thousands more joining your ranks and contact their members of Congress, we, as Turkish Americans will have failed our responsibility and all of our efforts will have been in vain. Our community is strong enough to stop this Resolution, if only it is committed enough to do so.

Please help us by urging your friends and family to follow in your footsteps and contact their members via TCA’s action alert. Please remember that unless we get involved and have our voices heard, the sizeable Turkish American community will remain trivial to elected officials.

We have time until March 4th to express our disapproval of the efforts to dishonor and damage the Turkish heritage. Let us make good use of the remaining time.
